- The cut resistance of a material is determined by four factors: strength, hardness, lubricity and rolling action.
- A yarn that possesses more of these four characteristics will typically have a higher cut
resistance than a glove that utilizes only one factor. - To test a glove’s cut resistant level, manufacturers usually abide by the standards of a testing agency known as American National Standards Institute (ANSI). ANSI provides a material’s cut resistance in grams of weight applied to the tested material.
- An ANSI level is determined by how much weight is needed to cut through a given material with 25 mm of blade travel. Levels range from 0 to 5, with 5 providing the highest level of cut resistance. Below you will find a table of ANSI levels to assist you while shopping for the best cut resistant glove.
- Gloves are rated under the ISO 13997 standard and designated with a number
between 0 and 5 to indicate cut resistance. - The least resistant gloves are designated by the number 0, while the
most resilient gloves are labeled with a 5.

molecular weight polyethylene, renowned as “The World’s Strongest Fibre. - Dyneema offers extremely high cut resistance and most of our gloves made from
Dyneema fibers fall under ANSI level 4, and our other Dyneema gloves are blended
with spiral wrapped steel, increasing their cut resistance to level 5. - All sizes of our Ansell Polar Bear PawGard gloves are blended with spiral
wrapped steel and are level 5 cut resistance. - 15x stronger than steel per unit weight -40% stronger than aramid fibers

multiple laundering in bleach. Machine washable. Bleaching and hot-air drying won't effect cut resistance or comfort. What Size Glove Should You Order? This is very important, because a glove
that is either too tight or too loose can both be uncomfortable and hazardous.
- To find the proper size glove for you, simply measure the widest part of your hand,
starting above the thumb and measuring across the palm and around the back of your hand. - A cloth measuring tape works best to take this measurement
- The size in inches corresponds to the size of the glove
- Example if your hand measures 8 inches, then you would wear a size 8 glove.-
which would mean either a Small or Medium glove. - If your hand measured 7 3/4 inches, then you should choose a small glove
- They are Extremely lightweight! (Large Glove Weighs 1.7 oz., Medium GloveWeighs1.5 oz. and Small Glove Weighs 1.3 oz.) Less fatigue than when you use Metal Mesh Cut Resistant Gloves!
- Use the Cut Resistant Glove to protect your hands when cutting meat, filleting fish, chopping fruits and vegetables, handling sharp metal, using an Exacto Knife or working with broken glass.

Customer Reviews
Gloves are comfortable and fit well under nitrile gloves to keep them clean. Still able to cut and process with dexterity. When I got a nick in a glove, glove washed up well and protected my finger.
Purchased so my 10 year old can help cut and not make a trip to the ER!
The Cut-Resistant gloves are a great addition to the Kitchen. When performing prep tasks with sharp objects (knives for instance) and potential for slipping or putting pressure on cuts, these prevent you from injuring yourself. These come in especially handy when doing any slicing with a Mandolin as your fingers get close to the blades and the potential for a injury is high. A relative of mine is a bit accident prone, and these made a great Christmas gift as well.
